Finally! I've been working on various iterations of this album for two years now. I started making the first few songs as a way to pass the time suring the first wave of the pandemic, but in the years after, it grew to a pretty big project! I'm not equally fond of all the songs, but after two years of having these songs in my music folder and getting bored of constantly working on the same thing, I thought "F*** it, I'm drawing the line here, let's release it!"

Train stations are a place I regularly visit. Sometimes they are a place I'll spend less than 5 minutes in, quickly leaving one train and hopping into the other. Sometimes, they are a place of rest after a long journey. sometimes, they are a place of wonder, with big moving machines, classic and modern architecture, and travellers from all over the world! I love being in train stations. Travelling by train is a huge part of my life. It's fun, it's relaxing, and sometimes it's annoying as hell! With this album, I want to give you a peek into my life as a rail traveller with both it's ups and it's downs, and I hope you enjoy! Below I will tell you some more about how this album came to be.

The main inspirations for this album are C418's "Excursions" from 2018, and C418's "one" from 2012. I really liked the way one track flows into the other on "Excursions", using ambience from New York City to connect them. I made this inspiration my own by going around the train station of Zwolle, The Netherlands, a train station I frequently travel through, and recording various sounds you might here there: trains stopping and leaving, people talking, people with rolling bags, people playing the not quite in tune piano that's in the main hall. I also recorded myself leaving one train and entering the next, serving as the intro and outro to the album.

I also like the way C418's "one" has multiple themes, "motivs" if you will, that keep on coming back, no matter the instrumentation. I've done this in my album too, so keep your ears peeled, you might recognise a theme sometimses!
